Math44 Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

This Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") explains how Math44 processes and protects personal data when schools, teachers, and students use the Math44 platform. This page is intended for schools and educational organizations using Math44.

1. Roles and Responsibilities

Under data protection laws such as the GDPR:

• School or Educational Organization (Controller): Controls the personal data and determines how it is used.

• Math44 (Processor): Processes personal data on behalf of the school to provide educational services.

Math44 only processes data according to the school's instructions and to provide the Math44 service.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

Math44 processes personal data solely to provide its educational platform, including:

• Creating and managing student and teacher accounts

• Delivering math learning content

• Tracking student progress and performance

• Providing dashboards and analytics to teachers

• Improving platform functionality and reliability

• Providing technical support

Math44 does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for advertising.

3. Categories of Users

Math44 may process data belonging to:

• Students

• Teachers

• School administrators

• Authorized school staff

4. Types of Data Processed

Math44 may process the following types of personal data:

Account Information

• First and Last Name

• Email address

• School name

• Grade level

Educational Data

• Assignment progress

• Scores and performance data

• Activity completion

Technical Data

• IP address

• Browser type

• Device type

• Login timestamps

Math44 does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.

5. Data Security

Math44 uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:

• Secure HTTPS encryption

• Access controls and authentication protections

• Secure cloud infrastructure

• Restricted access to authorized personnel only

• Regular security monitoring

6. Subprocessors

Math44 may use trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform, such as:

• Cloud hosting providers

• Infrastructure and security providers

These providers are contractually required to protect personal data.

7. Data Retention

Math44 retains personal data only as long as necessary to provide services to the school.

Schools may request deletion of their data at any time.

Upon request or termination of service, Math44 will delete or anonymize personal data, unless legally required to retain it.

8. Data Subject Rights

Schools may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data.

Math44 will assist schools in responding to such requests in accordance with applicable laws.

9. Data Breach Notification

If a data breach affecting personal data occurs, Math44 will notify affected schools without undue delay and take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

Math44 may process data on secure servers located in various regions. Appropriate safeguards are used to protect data during transfer and storage.

11. Compliance

Math44 is designed to support compliance with applicable student privacy laws, including:

• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

• Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

• Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), where applicable
